Sacred Cycles: Holistic Support for PMS & PMDD at Lite Mind Body
On Sunday, July 13th, Lite Mind Body hosted a meaningful event designed to bring together women who struggle with PMS and PMDD to provide support and knowledge. Hosted by Psychotherapist (qualifying) Jessica Gilligan, Acupuncturist Jessica Waddell, and Naturopath Andreia Horta, the event aimed to empower attendees with the knowledge needed to nurture their bodies throughout their cycle best. Holistic practices were shared, support was offered, and valued knowledge was gained.
Each attendee received mini acupuncture and ear seeds to help with pain relief, blood circulation, and stress relief from Acupuncturist Jessica Waddell. Psychotherapist Jessica Gilligan offered psychoeducation on the differences between PMS & PMDD and provided insight into how attendees could improve their emotional, physical, and mental state throughout their cycle. Dr. Andreia Horta presented valuable information on nutrition and hormonal health, providing attendees with details on the best foods and supplements for support during the luteal phase.
The event focused on supplying clients with the support and knowledge needed to face their cycle with confidence instead of dread. As many women struggle in silence with painful menstrual symptoms and difficult emotional fluctuations throughout their cycle, it is more important than ever to carve out safe spaces for the sharing of knowledge, stories, and support.
